Our Garden Basil Vinegars - naturally grown basil from our own garden and organic apple cider vinegar.
Our Garden BASIL VINEGARS are made with a blend of fine vinegars that complement the basil jellies. The basils are fresh from our own naturally grown herb garden. We use two kinds of purple basil for the Ruby, and an African spice basil for the Amber. When mixed with the jellies and a bit of olive oil they make the most delicious and nutritious vinaigrettes. They are great for salads, marinades and to spice up your cooking. Our line of Basil Vinegars incldue:

For the vinaigrette recipes below, combine ingredients in a tall narrow jar, easy for pouring or a vinaigrette bottle. Let stand at room temperature overnight. Shake well before using. If not used up within a week, store in refrigerator.

Amber Honey Vinaigrette½ cup Amber Basil Vinegar
¼ cup olive oil ¼ cup soy sauce 2 large cloves garlic, crushed 1 Tablespoon Honey 2 Tablespoons Amber Basil Jelly Amber BBQ Sauce
1 jar 250 ml. Amber Spice Jelly
50 ml. Amber Spice Vinegar 100ml. molasses 50 ml. Worchestershire Sauce 50 ml. soy sauce 2 Tablespoons dry mustard 4 Tablespoons chili powder 1 teaspoon ground ginger 2 cloves crushed garlic 2 Tablespoons olive oil 3 Tablespoons lemon juice Mix all ingredients in a 500 ml. jar and let sit overnight. Makes a great BBQ sauce. |
Mediterranean Vinaigrette½ cup Basil Vinegar – Ruby is best but any kind will do
¼ cup olive oil 2 cloves garlic, crushed 3 Tablespoons Basil Jelly 2 teaspoons each dried oregano & fresh parsley Ruby Raspberry Vinaigrette½ cup Ruby Basil Vinegar
¼ cup olive oil 3 Tablespoons Raspberry Jelly or to taste 3 Tablespoons Ruby Basil Jelly or to taste Sandy’s Ruby Appetizer¼ pound Feta Cheese broken into pieces
2-3 T. Ruby Basil Vinegar mixed in to soften cheese Add Walnuts, Orange Zest and dried cranberries with orange pieces mixed in with 3 T. Ruby Basil Jelly. Makes a delicious appetizer with rice crackers! |
